Florida twins prepare for missions

Twin brothers, Mormons who play high school football, were recently spotlighted in a prominent Florida newspaper.

Hayden and Kyle Griffitts, originally from Utah, play football for West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Fla. The brothers were the subject of a feature article in the Orlando Sentinel last week.

The article says the brothers have both received college football offers, but they have said they are planning to serve to two-year missions following graduation, which means they will part ways for the first time.

“It’s hard to take two years out of your life,” their mother Erin said in the article. “They have faith and believe that if they do what they think is right, there’s a path for them. Maybe they’ll come back, walk-on to a football team and be famous and amazing. Who knows?

“That’s where faith comes in. You don’t know for sure, and there are no guarantees.”

Their father, Bobby Griffitts, served a mission in Venezuela and played football at BYU in the early 1990s, according to BYUcougars.com.
